Spark’s Work

Learn about our approach, and how we support networks.

Our approach is grounded in four guiding principles that set us apart:

1) Outcome-focused, not process-focused: We aim for real, measurable improvement in outcomes that matter most.

2) Self-organization over bureaucracy: We enable communities to lead themselves with effective governance and policies that provide participants a voice.

3) Harnessing individual and collective expertise: We help people combine their individual expertise with shared insight, creativity, and capability to drive meaningful action.

4) Shared learning as a public good: We build commons and infrastructure so networks can share what works and advance faster together. We can’t emphasize this enough: our “true north” is about promoting the use of networked improvement strategies to achieve optimal outcomes. We are excited to do this in partnership with others and to share what we are learning with the field through a “commons” that makes tools and best practices available to organizations, leaders and teams everywhere.

FOUR KEYS

Our Approach

Spark works with people and organizations committed to improving outcomes through collaboration, including:

  • Healthcare systems, hospitals, and clinical leaders

  • Public health and community-based organizations

  • Education systems and learning communities

  • Social service organizations and cross-sector partnerships

  • Patients, families, caregivers, and community members

  • Researchers, data partners, and improvement scientists

  • Philanthropic, governmental, and industry partners

We support both emerging networks just getting started and established networks seeking to deepen impact, expand scale, or accelerate learning.
